Science experiments that use paper and water are convenient because everyone has these items at home. Today, we will show you how to make a boat that moves in water. It is called a Soap Powered Boat.

You will be amazed at how simple it is to make this boat. Below are the materials you will need…

Dish Soap

Paper

Scissors

Water

When we first saw this experiment, we could not believe how simple it was to do. Immediately my son got the materials and went to work.

After doing the experiment, we were excited that it worked on the first try. My son made multiple boats and had fun trying different boat designs.

The science behind this experiment is soap tension. Soap breaks down the surface tension of water. As this happens, it creates enough force to push the paper boat across the water.

Fun Science At Home for Kids | How To Make a Chicken Sound | Chicken In A Cup

Want to try fun science at home? Today we will show you a fun and easy science experiment called Chicken in a Cup. Kids will learn how to make a chicken sound using the science of vibrations.

My son loves doing science experiments. This week we went to our local science museum where they had a two hour time entry. There was so much to explore within those two hours. However, my son decided to stay at the lab doing science experiments.

When we saw the Chicken in a Cup activity, we couldn’t believe a cup could make a chicken sound. Therefore, we had to try it.

How To Make Colorful Balls of Ice for Kids | Fun Activity Kids

The holidays are here and kids will be home from school. During their down time, why not expose them to STEM projects that will be fun and educational? We have a fun activity for you today. We will show you how to make Colorful Balls of Ice. This project is also called Colorful Snow Globes.

All you need is three items ….

Water

Food Coloring

Balloons

Kids will learn what the powerful combination of water, balloons, and food coloring can make.

They will also learn about two states of water which are solid (ice) and liquid (water).

My son loves choosing different colors for his snow globes. The best part about this activity is melting the big ball of ice. You can do this with salt (which takes longer) or warm water.

Have your children make multiple Snow Globes and see who can melt them the fastest.

We love projects where household materials are put together to make something fun. When my oldest son was a baby, I remember taking beans and putting them in a plastic bottle. This made a maraca that he loved to shake. You will learn how to make a different instrument in this post. Today we will teach you how to make an AIR flute at home.

This is a great project for preschoolers, kindergarteners, and up. First, it is easy to make. Also, it takes about 10 minutes to complete.

Kids will learn how to make this flute using straws. When kids blow in the various straws, they will create different pitches. Have your child make up a song and perform it for the family. The possibilities are endless.

When my son and I first tried it, we were unsure if it would work. However, surprisingly it did! After making one ornament we decided to make more. We made a variety of snowmen using food coloring and googly eyes.

Easy STEM Activity for Elementary Students | DIY Flying Cups

Winter time will be coming soon! Many children will not be going outside as much because of the cold weather. No worries! There are a lot of fun science experiments and DIY STEM projects children can do indoors. However, we wanted show you, before it gets too cold, a fun activity your child can do outside. It is the FLYING CUPS, which is an easy STEM activity for elementary students.

Below is what you need for this activity…

Your child will be building a cup launcher that will spin in the air. Kids can observe how the flyer is moving away from them, but the cups are spinning towards them. We call this a bottom spin, which causes air behind the cups. This is why the flyer moves up and forward. Scientists call this the Magnus Effect. The technical term for this STEM toy is Magnum Flyer.

I am excited about today’s activity because it involves melting a big ball of ice. When my son first heard about this science project, he was excited to get started. To make the activity more interesting, he trapped his PJ Masks figurine set in the ice. We want to share it with you. Today we will show you how to make ice balloons with your favorite toys.

This project includes fun pretend play with PJ Masks Figure Set. The PJ Masks figures are trapped in ice globes. It is Scientist Corban’s job to melt the ice to rescue Cat Boy, Owlette, and Gekko. Kids will love this ice breaking and melting activity.  Children will learn how to make ice melt fast. This is a fun science experiment for preschoolers, kindergarten, and up.

Easy Slime To Make For Kids – Household Ingredients Needed

Most kids love to make and play with slime. It is ooey, gooey, and stretchy. My son’s favorite is glow in the dark slime. A few years back, there were kids in our neighborhood selling it. Apparently, it sold very well. In this post, we will show you an easy slime to make in the comfort of your home.

This project was requested by son’s friend, DJ. He asked how to make slime. Cory decided to make a video because he thought other kids may want to learn as well.

We like this slime recipe because there is no borax needed. You are also using household materials such as baking soda, contact solution, and glue. We used food coloring as well but this is optional.

This slime can be made in UNDER THREE MINUTES!

Your kids will enjoy making it. One tip is to store the slime in a plastic bag so your kids can play with it in the future.

Balloons are wonderful for play. My sons love hitting, tossing, and bouncing them. Balloons are also great for using in science experiments. We have used balloons to make launchers, boats, and rockets. Here is a simple STEM activity for kids. We will show you how to make static electricity with balloons.

This is one of the easiest balloon science experiments for preschoolers, kindergarteners, and up. It is easy and fun to do. If your children like balloons, this is the activity for them.

Wool or 100% Polyester Fleece sweater
