Hello! Thank you for coming to my website. My name is Andrea Stephenson and I am a wife and mom of two curious and energetic boys.
I am an Amazon best-selling author of six books: Teach Your Toddler to Read Through Play, Fun and Easy Ways to Teach Your Toddler to Write, Teach Your Child About Money Through Play, Alexander’s Hide and Seek Alphabet, Our-Story Black History for Kids: Scientists, and The Ultimate Guide to Accelerating Your Child’s Learning and Memory.
My son and I also have a YouTube channel, Corban’s Fun Learning Adventures, that has over 140 science experiments, STEM and art projects, and learning games.
Simply Outrageous Youth and my work has been mentioned in Black Enterprise, NewsOne, BlackNews.com, and more.
I started Simply Outrageous Youth because there is a need to teach our children life skills using fun and on-hands methods. When I was young, one of my responsibilities was to sit down and fill out checks for household bills. My older brother, who created the Simply Outrageous name, taught me about credit scores and the stock market through role plays and games.
Creating this same experience for my son and other children is something I love to do!
My History
I went to Davidson College in North Carolina and received a Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis. I have been a Social Worker for over 16 years. My experience includes being a play therapist, directing a mentor program for kids who have been abused and neglected, and helping children start businesses.
Simply Outrageous Youth is born
While in graduate school, I created a financial literacy curriculum taught by myself and Master of Business students at the local public and private schools. This was my first independent contract and it helped cover living expenses while being a student.
After graduate school, the official Simply Outrageous Youth brand was created in 2006 and is designed to utilize innovative and exciting methods of teaching business, financial, and life skills to 2nd – 8th grade students.
We offer a variety of curricula that can be facilitated in after school, in-school, and summer programs. Our lessons incorporate fun, games and role-plays, to teaching children from every background. We teach youth concepts that are not offered in most schools such as money and business management, memory and math tricks, and life skills.
Currently, the focus of Simply Outrageous Youth is enhancing the educational needs of young children. Our goal is to encourage fun learning and curiosity in kids.
Previously, we had 30 certified teachers that served over 500 youth in 24 schools and community organizations in the greater Philadelphia, Delaware, St. Louis, Chicago, Charlotte, and Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Now, I have decided to share fun learning activities online with parents and teachers that I have done with my sons since they were babies.
