For Virtual Learners

Bills and Budgeting Workshop for Virtual Learners

Kids will play the Budget game which simulates how adults pay bills and handle money in the real world.

The purpose of this interactive and team-based lesson is to teach students, ages 7-14 about the importance of budgeting their money and understanding fundamental and life long lessons on financial management.

Children will have a career with a set income and experience various life decisions based on their financial situation and expenses.  Based on their game play they will have to decide: Should they buy a new or used car?, Is it better to have a mortgage or to rent?, How will they manage credit and debt?, and many other financial decisions parents/guardians face daily.

Children will be exposed to concepts in a variety of topics…

  • Salary
  • Expenses
  • Taxes
  • Mortgage
  • Rent
  • Credit Card Payments
  • School Loans
  • Child Expense
  • Monthly Cash Flow
  • Car Payment
  • Car Insurance Payment
  • New and Used Cars
  • Debt

Parents who have younger children, ages 7-9, we strongly encourage you to participate with your kids in the workshop.
